Technical Product Description

The Ming Yang C&Y Glow Starter is a rechargeable handheld glow-plug igniter designed for RC model aircraft and other nitro/glow-fuel engines. It provides a convenient portable power source for heating the engine's glow plug during starting and features a locking socket mechanism that securely holds the starter onto the glow plug.

The spring-loaded locking mechanism is designed to engage the hexagonal body of the glow plug. The starter can be attached by depressing the spring-loaded plunger, positioning the socket over the glow plug and releasing the plunger to lock it in place. This helps keep the glow starter securely connected during engine starting without requiring continuous hand pressure.

The unit incorporates an ellipse-shaped grip plate for comfortable handling and a gold-plated glow-starter contact for the electrical connection. The rechargeable design eliminates the need to continually replace disposable batteries and makes the unit suitable for repeated use at the RC flying field.

Charging Information

According to the manufacturer's packaging:

• Initial charge: 14–16 hours
• Subsequent charging time: Approximately 12 hours
• The charger connects to the glow starter through its locking socket.
• The charger is then connected to a suitable wall power source.

How to Use

1. Position the glow starter over the engine's glow plug.
2. Depress the spring-loaded locking plunger.
3. Place the starter onto the glow plug's hexagonal body.
4. Release the plunger to lock the starter securely onto the glow plug.
5. Use the glow starter to provide power to the glow plug during engine starting.
6. After use, release the locking mechanism and remove the starter.
